There is a silver lining in the uprisings happening in different Arab countries in the Middle East and Africa. Obama has an opportunity if it has the determination and imagination to turn the tide somewhat to the favor of the United States and Israel.
Right now Hamas and Syria are wary of a contagion effect of protests within their region. Syria is preparing for upcoming protests and even said that what happend to Egypt will not happen to it. Hamas meanwhile just stopped pro-Egypt protests yesterday and are currently monitoring Facebook chatter over calls for protests.
The United States and Israel can turn the tables against these anti-American, and anti-Israeli regimes. Helping the legitimate grievances of the citizens in Gaza and Syria just like those in Egypt and Tunisia can somewhat equalize what the Muslim Brotherhood is doing to Egypt and Jordan.
