The Perplexing Notion of a Revolution in Bahrain

Bahrain has a soaring economy, it has religious freedom some say is better than any in the Middle East except probably in Israel. But right now it is unrest and the puzzling part is that the revolution is being made by Shiites in the population. Is the predominantly Shiite Iran again in the mix here? Is this an example on how no matter what the economy is or how much freedom there are, it doesn't matter to the radicals?
