Turkey wants to expand its influence in the Middle East and to be a seen as the leader in the Arab world. To show that it is not all talk this time it suspends its military, diplomatic and economic ties with Israel. In this Stratfor analysis however; especially at the end of it, a more sinister scenario could take place. The US is now courting Turkey to help the former in reaching out to the Middle East. Will this crisis be use by the present US government to corner Israel into submitting to the wishes of the Obama administration.
